Transfer Case Keeps Going Into Neutral
As I said trans fluid keeps the internal components alive.
Transfer case keeps going into neutral. Go on checking the battery positive voltage and ignition voltage. Notorious would be a good description I had a 99 01 04 and each truck had the push button dash switch replaced under warranty. 4202016 When going down the highway and pulling hard up a hill or loaded heavy the transfer case pops out of 2H and into neutral.
1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee transmission or transfer case. 192019 Turn the ignition switch while observing the transfer case shift control switch indicators. I also reprogram the transfer case.
The transmission has started going into neutral while driving I was pulling to side of road and cutting the Jeep off and it would reset and drive fine for a couple hundred miles and then repeat. It does it in 2WD or 4WD high but 4WD low range seems fine. 10232015 My NP246 transfer case slips into neutral while im drivingthe indicator still shows 2wdthoughI pull over and stop and shift it to 4x4 and then back to 2wd and im good to go for a while then it slips out again same conditions.
Note the position is PAST the 4LO. 172014 I have an 05 Silverado Z71. 2162009 Next put your foot on the brake pedal and shift your transmission in Neutral.
It could put a check 4whl drive message in the message center. Transfer case has been rebuilt 2 times and seemed to be ok for awhile then itll do it again. It has been getting worse to the point where it does it every time I put the transmission in gear.
It was tough to tell that because you cant really feel the shift fork position when you have the electric pushbutton t-case. This routine has continued this. You have to remove the transfer case actuator and pull the actuator apart to replace it.
