Transfer Credits Isu

Transfer students begin with a new GPA because only credit hours transfer.

Iowa State allows a maximum of 65 credits to transfer from a two-year institution. Grades are not transferable. In most cases the course is developmental in nature.

In the credit column indicates that the course does not transfer to Iowa State University. Students who earn a 4 or 5 on the AP Chemistry Exam are eligible to receive credit for the lecture courses. Illinois Articulation Initiative IAI facilitates the transfer of students from one Illinois institution to another.

Transfer credit grades will not be displayed. You must complete a minimum of 32 semester hours at Iowa State to earn a bachelors degree. A maximum of 65 transfer credits or 97 quarter hours from 2-year colleges may be applied to your undergraduate degree program There is no limit to the number of credits that may be transferred from 4-year institutions.

No matter the reasons all ISU students receive an excellent education at an affordable price. Students who enter ISU without credit in the ISUComm Foundation Courses will have an opportunity to earn credit for English 150 if their ACT-E SAT-ERW SAT-CR score or Advanced Placement AP credit meets the placement criteria as described on the English Placement website. A maximum of sixteen semester hours of careertechnical credit can be transferred to Iowa State.
